Study With Genius

Study with the minds
that changed the world.

Two to four hour study-with-me sessions set in the real workspaces of history's great scientists. An on-screen timer, gentle bells, and one verified quote per break. Nothing else to distract you.

Season 1

New sessions every Tuesday and Friday. Each one is a different room, in the year the work happened, built from documented descriptions of the place.

Einstein, Bern, 1905

Room 86 of the Patent Office. A standing desk, a gas lamp, patent files tied with ribbon. Pomodoro 50/10, three cycles.

Marie Curie, Paris, 1898

The wooden shed on rue Lhomond, rain on the glass roof, a cast-iron stove. Deep work 90/20, two blocks.

Tesla, Colorado Springs, 1899

The barn with the sliding roof open to the prairie sky. 52/17 rhythm, three cycles.

Newton, Woolsthorpe, 1666

A limestone farmhouse, a prism on the table, a beam of light crossing the wall. Pomodoro 25/5, six cycles.

Planck, Berlin, 7 October 1900

A study in Grunewald, a grand piano, a postcard to Rubens half written. Flowtime with exit points every 25 minutes.

The method, honestly

Every session follows one focus technique with its real parameters, and the description says what the evidence actually shows. Short breaks of ten minutes or less reduce fatigue (a 2022 meta-analysis of 22 samples). The classic 25/5 Pomodoro does not beat self-regulated breaks in two recent trials, but it is a useful scaffold when you are starting out. Instrumental music neither helps nor hurts; music with lyrics does hurt reading and memory. We never make claims about your brain that we cannot source.

What you get in every session

  • A visible timer with the cycle number, and a different bell to start and to end each block.
  • A quiet, historically accurate room that changes slowly as the hours pass.
  • One verified quote or fact per break, with its source in the description.
  • A recall prompt in the last minute, because testing yourself is the best-supported study technique there is.

How these sessions are made

The rooms are AI-generated recreations built from documented descriptions of real places; no real footage of those places is used. Music is generated with ElevenLabs Music under a commercial licence. Ambient sounds are CC0 recordings from Freesound. The short narration is a synthetic voice and does not imitate any real person. Every video carries YouTube's altered or synthetic content label.
